The role:

We are looking to employ an innovative Sous Chef to assist the Head Chef in delivering our vision of fresh, simple meals in our popular café DD Collective.  You will be expected to perform duties of the Head Chef in their absence.

  • Maintaining consistent standards of execution
  • Helping to mentor and train members of kitchen staff
  • Consistently monitor product and labor costs to remain within goals.
  • Ensure compliance to food handling practices.
  • Ordering and organisation of food preparation.

The person:

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:

  • Experience as Sous Chef or Head Chef in high volume kitchen
  • Must be capable of running kitchen operations in absence of Head Chef
  • Food Safety Supervisor certificate
  • Self-discipline, initiative and leadership ability.
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Organised and customer focused
  • Ability to motivate employees to work as a team to ensure that food and service times meet appropriate standards
  • Full availability (days, nights, weekends & public holidays)
